Judging Criteria

The projects will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Quality of electrical workmanship
  • Difficulty of the electrical installation
  • Innovation in construction techniques
  • Originality in project thinking
  • Use of technology in construction techniques

The competition will consider thirteen categories based on the type of project and its dollar value:

  • Commercial/Institutional
  • Design-Build
  • Educational
  • Energy Solutions/Green Building
  • Health Care
  • Industrial
  • Low Voltage/Limited Energy Technology
  • Overhead Transmission
  • Residential/Mixed Use
  • Street Lighting/Traffic Signal
  • Substation/Interconnection
  • Transportation & Infrastructure
  • Electric Vehicle (EV)

For each project category, except for Commercial/Industrial, Low Voltage/Technology, Overhead Transmission, Residential, and Substation/Interconnection, the award will be based on whether the electrical/technology portion of the project is valued under or over $1,000,000.
